New owner and member

I just wanted to introduce myself.I have wanted to get a nice old Chevy pickup for a while now and finally got one.It is a 1969 C10 2WD LWB fleetside 250 six cylinder/3 speed plain Jane truck. It is very straight and mostly original.Up here in Maine rust is everything...and this truck is pretty good.I am an amputee, so my first priority is to find a 200-4r tranny and convert it so I can drive it 'til winter.I look forward to using this forum. There is an enormous amount of info here and many great members.I hope I can contribute in the future. Mark

Yes, I am keeping the six.I like that it's not a small block...different is good IMHO.The engine appears to run real well...except for rear cab supports and a bad spot behind the seat it's really solid. Thanks for your greeting!

Changing to the overdrive tranny is just what you need . Most of these trucks were geared a tad to low to return any fuel mileage
