New guy, Father/son project 87 swb.
Hello all. been doing alot of research on the site and this is by far the best Chevy truck forum I've come across. So the story of the swb goes like this. My Grandma and Grandpa bought it brand new in 1987. Grandma passed away in 2005 and left it to my dad. Dad kept it under a cover for a couple of years, finally decided he wasn't going to do anything with it so he gave it to me so I can start building it for my 11 year old son. Currently equipped with a tbi 350 but I can get a 5.3 and 4l60e from a local junker for $1200 engine/trans/harness/ecm so I'm thinking about that being the first thing i do. IN one of the pics you can see the black Buick, that's the project that;s going to fund this build. 400hp supercharged 3800. Sad to see her go but anxious to get this chevy started so I can get this kid off Minecraft or whatever game it is has all these kids stuck to the couches these days.
Other plans are paint, 3" cowl, 3/4 or so drop (maybe bags but i'm not sure yet) Phantom grill, and some other little odds and ends. Nothing out of the ordinary, same thing alot of people on here are doing. I have been known to go a little overboard though so don't be surprised if you see a supercharged 6.0 dropped in this thing lol. |
