Starter Bolts Needed

Anyone have a couple shouldered GM starter bolts for a 350 automatic trans. sitting around? I need to come up with two bolts for swapping my
sm465/np205 set-up for the 350TH/np205 in my '71 4x4. Since my current set-up starter bolts horizontally to the bell housing those bolts won't work. Went thru ALL my many buckets and cans of bolts with no luck. Can't believe I don't have a couple laying around. Really don't want to buy a "HELP" pack of assorted bolts as I need two bolts and the pack has only one each of the particular bolt I need. Need a GM shouldered bolt with the lower portion "knurled" section. (sp?), needs to be 3 1/2" length, 3/8" dia. Will buy or trade, I need'um. Let me know what you got and what you need.

Re: Starter Bolts Needed

That would be great if you can help out. I'm just guessing on the length by measuring from starter mount edge to starter mount edge. Starter I have has a three bolt pattern, 2 across and 1 staggered bolt hole. Not sure what my 350 block is drilled for, was told by the parts house this is the starter I need. It does have a steel nose cone, not aluminum like I've seen so often? Two bolt holes measure 2 3/4" mount edge to mount edge, one meaures
2 1/2" mount edge to mount edge so I figured plus another 3/4" for threads?

Re: Starter Bolts Needed

I have to admit I'm somewhat confused myself. I know the engine is a 350 but it's not original to the truck. Was told when I bought the 4x4 the engine had been replaced with an early to mid 80's truck engine. Will know more on that in the future. Plan is when I get into the meat and taters of the
sm465/np205 removal and the install of the TH350/np205 set-up I plan on removing the engine for a engine bay clean up and freshen of the engine itself. New double roller timing chain, clean and paint, new pan gasket, change to Edelbrock intake and carb (625 cfm), install the tall oil fill tube, stock valve covers and new cork gaskets and probably new freeze plugs then also. I may not have the correct starter right now but will have to wait until get the old setup pulled and the new installed to mount up and see what I have.
