'QUALITY' valve cover and engine dress up options....
OK...I seem to have found the leak coming from the valve covers (made in China chrome type). I would like to get a set of tall valve covers in plain design (no stamping of the Chevy logo or name since obviously it is a Chevy in plain sight) and 'quality' chrome or SS and thick, not thin metal. I would also like to replace the cheapo chrome timing cover and possibly the oil pan, but what are my options to 'quality' dress up items??? LMK what you have and where did you get it from? And review of your valve covers and engine dress up.
FYI: I have a '67 C10 SWB with a '78 350 Chevy motor and TH350 transmisson. Also, I plan to eventually paint my truck in 'dark/lincoln green' with caramel brown interior. I would prefer something in the 'bling bling' factor, ahaha!! Post pics please...

Re: 'QUALITY' valve cover and engine dress up options....
I myself like aluminium valve covers because they seem to seal so much because they dont flex any, I will be buying some old style Holley MTs covers for my pretty soon.
I know Summit Racing sells a nice Aluminium oil pan for a small block, myself I would not want a chrome one just because of the heat they make. I just put on a 7 quart pan from Moroso and it fit real well but its just Chevy orange not real bling to it. Posted via Mobile Device |

whatever valve covers you go with, use perma seal gaskets from fel pro and torque to specs. you will not have any leak issues. problem solved.

How can you torque to specs if the screw is the hand tight version...

Re: 'QUALITY' valve cover and engine dress up options....
I have black valve covers, air cleaner, and oil pan purchased from CFR performance. They have a large selection and if you catch them around holiday weekends they usually have a sale with 20% off. They fit well and no problems with leaks, i used the rubber gaskets with valve covers.
