That's a neat idea Jon. Reminds me of the mid engine blown SBC VW Microbus that ran at Bonneville in 2009.

Nice truck, I have a 1 ton too. Parts hard to find, espically the gas tank brackets. Got mine tore apart to fix rust. Keep us posted with updates, Jeremy

Re: 65 1 ton panel?!?!?

Looks like it may have had some upgrades, the power brake booster and master cylinder are not stock. The exhaust has a crossover in it.

There was a guy here in So Cal that had a 1 ton panel that was a carpet truck. He bought and sold the big Persian rugs. It was dark green with the company lettering and split rims with the factory chrome hubcaps, bumpers and polished grille. I wanted that thing badly. It would have made a cool camper for 2 people and a lot classier than a van.

Yeah, the 1-ton's have a 10' cargo area instead of the 8' (7.5' actually). I have a 60 1-ton panel myself. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=523009

Re: 65 1 ton panel?!?!?

I put a bunch of photos of my truck being taken apart all its rusted areas, etc. You may want to look at them to see what you may run into.
