Filler Neck Reroute

I really dont like the look of the gas tank filler neck hanging out of the side on my 72. Thinking about using a door like a newer truck, just not sure about the engineering behind the panel. Anybody that has converted post some pics please.

or search for blazer tank installs. That's the best way to do it if you don't want the filler neck next to your door, otherwise you are running a ton of extra hose just to get back into the cab. And it would be at an upward angle so....

Re: Filler Neck Reroute

there has been several guys that put filler doors from newer trks. do a search in the projects and build section. if i remember a build I'll post a link for you. but its not to hard really, just need the donor panel section and weld it in to your qtr panel then fill original hole. then some ingenuity to route the hose.

You do realize that this is the "blazer/jimmy" section, right? He already has a blazer tank installed...in his blazer. lol.

That's a cool idea. I wonder how they'd hold up to the constant vibration of automotive use.

Hart Rod did it. I don't know if you plan to use the side marker light, but the hinge could be used anywhere.
