Coating inside of the cab - what did you use

I realized I have not updated my build thread in a couple months so I will do that this week (currently at work).

Right now, I have the cab and bed mounted on the frame. So I started cleaning out the interior (removing moldings, gauges, fuel tank, etc) and really looked at the floor. The floors are 98% solid (only holes I have really are the transmission cover which i will replace), but I do not want to "finish" the cab. I wanted to keep the rustic look to it, but prevent any further rust.

So here is my dilemma:

I was thinking of coating the whole inside (from below the rear window to up the firewall) with POR15. I think it will hold and preserve the cab much better than anything else and also means I don't have to take it down to bare metal. The issue is the cab is on the frame and the frame is painted. If I use the Metal Prep I have to spray the inside of the cab out which is a pain and I am going to have to bag everything and try to keep the water down.

I am looking to see how you guys finished off your cabs (especially the rat rod guys). I just didn't think epoxy was the best move.

I used the POR-15 but had the cab off so it was no big deal. Where there was no rust I touch sanded and used a brush on rustoleum oil base paint under the dash and on surfaces that will be covered. rest got epoxy primer and base clear coat.

Semi gloss Rustoleam, brushed it on, my body shop guy did the floor with lizard skin, not impressed, it chips off. There is a thread in the paint section on making your own.

Yes it works great, but almost afraid to say what it cost... took my breath away...

Re: Coating inside of the cab - what did you use

Ok cool thanks for the responses.

After some thought yesterday, I am going to just POR15 the firewall, floors and back of the cab. I will just have to bag everything to make sure it is completely dry.

@OrrieG: I was considering doing the bedliner, but figured if I am going through all the work of prepping the cab, I will just do the POR.

@Parkwood and Kid: Thanks for the recommendations on the lizard skin. I will have to try that on another one of the projects. Surely, this isn't the last one. Hahaha

I did several coats of rattle can bed liner. Used it from behind the gas tank all the way to just below the dash. I'm using a factory style mat so most of it will be covered. I also coated the firewall, underneath the floors, cab with the same spray bed liner. I'm happy with it.
