Smile HELLO TO ALL!! I've been bitten By the bug!

Yes I have! I have had a 86 c10 and a 84, but now am ready to move DEEPER INTO A 67-72 c10! I want a shortbed! Am still debating between theb67-69 and 70-72... I think I found one but am not sure due to the limited information available on it, any info would be greatly appreciated. Apparently it's a PAST show winner. Disc brakes so suspension might be swapped out and restored... "older restoration"? I'm hoping that means FRAME OFF ?! Please help I am about ready to pull the trigger... Here is the truck......

I look forward to getting the most info and hopefully obtaining one of these great trucks... Thanks E..

Re: HELLO TO ALL!! I've been bitten By the bug!

dang...i just had a 90s flashback.

no the truck is not worth 9g. at best 7, and thats being very generous.

you wanna know how much a vehicle is worth. you look at what you can get for the truck if you have to sell it tomorrow. it's by no means a rare truck, so it comes down to the sum of parts in the truck.

figure up what it would cost to build the same truck. think of it this way you can get an unfinished truck with a solid body, good drive train and some upgrades for under 3g. that interior is basically tweed and felt stretched over foam and glue down. ok so it's a nice seat cover. 500bux for the interior. you can do all the body work to get it ready for paint for 300-600. it's just a basic chrome dress kit under the hood, but ill throw in a grand to complete the drive-train. paint is up to you. there's nothing stopping anyone of you from painting their own car. keep in mind the dated rims and interior in truck, this means the paint is probably about 10 years .me personally i wouldn't give more than 5g. it's a common truck so i wouldn't feel bad about walking away if the seller didn't come down.

here's this best tip. shop around. it's very common classic vehicle and with a 2 minute search i've already found out theres 2 listed on oldcar traded for 5-6g in better shape.

Oh damn! It's the same one! Lol.. I've been following the Craigslist ad... And since it says ad removed when sold... No wonder they haven't returned my texts... Any other resources where I could look to find my next c10?

Keep searching and you'll probably find a really nice one in the 5-7k range.

Hey I have a 69 that you could build any way you want, I wrote briefly about my situation yesterday, its gonna need work and I really do not even know what its worth probably not much at all but its a good base to start. Seriously if you want to build your own way let me know. I just want to see it taken care of.

Re: HELLO TO ALL!! I've been bitten By the bug!

There is a place called classic car liquidators in sherman that has a couple 67-72's, not sure if you have to have a dealers license to buy from them or not. They do have a web site under the same name. lots of other cool stuff there also.

Hey 9xxx11 ...

and from Ohio.

It is my belief that its a buyers market. Be patient and you will find the perfect truck.

Make a list of what is important to you such as:
Do you want the following:
ac
BB
SWB or LWB
Which years 67-68/ 69-70 / 71-72

Best of luck.

Re: HELLO TO ALL!! I've been bitten By the bug!

My take? The whole thing makes me sick!

If I bought that truck, even for *ten* grand, I wouldn't be buried for $15k in mine....And, I'd have a paint job! And I'd be driving it.
