How hard is it to take the metal dash out?

i found a 1990 Chevy Blazer and the dash where the center AC vent was located was cut out to put a big radio in. How hard is ti to replace the metal part of the dashboard?

The bottom unbolts, but it is spot welded all across the base of the windshield. If you didn't want to pull the windshield out of the donor, you could cut it close and make a flange out of the recieving vehicle. Pulling the windshield on the vehicle getting the dash would makie things a ton easier to weld up, though.

So - basically, it's pretty tough.

Anything can be done (given enough time, money, talent and/or effort - pick no more than two) but this would be a lot of cutting and re-welding. Definitely not a "bolt in".

Re: How hard is it to take the metal dash out?

My factory "3 hole" radio mounting spot was cut for a modern DIN chassis radio. I bought an original uncut piece, but its only the approximately 8" by 10" around the radio. I plan to repair mine, cut out the bad and weld in the new piece. I can't weld for crap yet but have a friend that will do it for me. Can you repair yours that way?

Probably could, but the deal fell through, the guy that was selling it was a little shady so i decided not to buy it.
