any difference between 3/4 and 1/2 ton?
hey guys i was looking into a 51 chevy 3/4 ton. and was wondering if there any difference as far as lowering it and what not. it seems the leaf springs in the rear are set out side the frame, is this a problem at all? I'm just looking the slam it and make a nice set of white walls.

Re: any difference between 3/4 and 1/2 ton?
8 lug vs 6 lug wheels and the frame is thicker gauge material and a little deeper. Click the link in my signature, scroll to the bottom of the page that pops up and go the year index. Pick your year and look a the index. There is a table that gives the differences. Unless its a 9' bed wheel base is the same for 1/2 and 3/4. Then have the same spring mounts. Lots of build threads to look at to get a idea how low you can go with stock suspension mods, then clips and c notching the frame to get lower.
