Textured look

I want a flat black textured look to my truck. A friend did his entire truck with Herculiner but that was too rough for me. I tested 3M undercoating on some spare sheet metal and I really like that look. My concern is longevity and truck value. Opinions on this please.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you do this the value to most people is going to go way down. Just doing the inside of a bed hurts value to an extent. It's because once done, it's hard to undo.

Re: Textured look

For longevity and truck value... just a good paint job in a factory color would prolly be the best.

I've seen a few 4x4 cats that have done the Herculiner/Rhinoliner/Line-X to the exterior of trucks... looks a little silly, and adds weight to the vehicle. Unless it's some sort of hardcore trail rig...

Re: Textured look

It'd probably be best to just flat black with with some rattle cans IMHO.

If retaining the value of your truck is important to you..then don't do this as it will take a major nose dive for most potential buyers. If this is for you and truck value is not important then go for it.

Re: Textured look

Have you heard of plasti dipping an entire car/ truck? There is a website on it. I think it's called dipyourcar.com or something like that. Good thing is it can be undone.

No... If you take just a few seconds to look at the website I posted, dipyourcar.com, you will see that they sell a kit with a sprayer. I have never done this but I am considering it for one truck til I get the cash for paint

You might do a little research on blitz black too.
I've heard from a lot of paint & body guys that you can not paint over JDBB.
And it would have to be completely stripped off if you decide to paint later.

You might check into Hot Rod Flatz also.
