Tailgate letters

Would anyone be able to tell me the spacing between the letters on the tailgate? I have done some searching but found no real measurements. These letters would be alot easier to put on if they would put then on a roll of sticker backer. Thanks for the help.

Re: Tailgate letters

Not too sure what you are asking for. The stock tailgate letters are debossed into the metal and painted after the top color coat. If your tailgate is smooth I think it is aftermarket.

Re: Tailgate letters

As Tim points out, the reason they aren't on a roll is that the letters are embossed, and you really need to do them one letter at a time.
If you are putting them on a smooth tailgate I would take a piece of paper the size all the letters will cover, and tape the letters to that. Then you tape the paper to your tailgate, and peel back one letter at a time.

Re: Tailgate letters

Hi,

I just measured on my 72 C20:

From left taillight to C : 26 cm
From right edge of T to right taillight: 26 cm

Between the letters H and E: 8 cm
Between the letters O and L: 8 cm
Since all the other letters don't have straight edges it varies.

Sorry, I measure everything metric and I could not find a non metric tape measure.
Hopefully this helps a little anyway.

Best regards from Riverside

Hans

You didn't mention if you have a Chevy or a GMC.

His avatar picture shows Chevrolet front fenders. When you click on the avatar photo you get a larger version of it.
