Re: 71 C/10 First project.
Thanks! Yeah I agree. I probably should have just bought another bed but oh well. Eventually I might save up for some new repro bedsides. They are kinda salty though and I'm not sure how good they are.

Re: 71 C/10 First project.
Splehigh what kind of paint gun did you use? You said this was your first time, how hard was it? I have a bed i want to replace an theres some spots on my truck i would like to repaint, specially the top. What were you having trouble with on the window? The truck looks great i love the color, that red i think are the best color for them.

I used this gun: http://www.harborfreight.com/air-too...gun-66222.html Just make sure you clean it really good after each use, otherwise it can clog up really easily. The hardest part is preparing the surface for paint. It every little imperfection gets 10 times worse when you spray paint over it. Make sure you take your time sanding and getting everything perfectly smooth. Also, make sure your primer and paint are compatible. Its best if they are made by the same company. I used a cheap primer from advance auto and I had a lot of problems with it. When I painted the bed I had a lot of fish eyes in the paint, which was the paint not sticking right to the primer. Other than that its not hard. Just practice painting on some scrap metal first before you tackle the whole bed. My paint is not perfect by any means, but it looks good from 10ft away and I drive it everyday, so who cares. I had problems with getting the windshield back in the cab with the rubber on it. There is a trick to doing it. Somehow you take a piece of string and use that to pull the gasket onto the cab. I decided to have a pro install a new one after I broke mine. Really frustrating when you spend hours working on it and then it cracks when you are almost done. Thanks! Your truck looks nice too.

Re: 71 C/10 First project.
Here are some updated pics. Thought the David Bradely looked pretty cool sitting on the back.
Also included a pic of my winter driver.
