Re: 572 ci sbc

I am aware that you could build a BBC to make that power but its just the fact to own a HUGE SBC engine.. Think about that in a 62 truck like Supers... WOW that would be fun... BTW the NOS kit with that engine can only be for giggles right?? HA HA Nelson racing is one place that sells these. I was watching there videos and was just drooling at the power they are making. TO have money.. ahhhhh another pipe dream.

Pretty sure that "sbc" was a typo on NREs website.

Re: 572 ci sbc

All the parts listed are BBC stuff so it must be a typo. For a engine that size I like a 10.2 block and a longer rod.

Re: 572 ci sbc

It is a typo, the largest that is being done in a SBC is a 540 currently, a guy down under is racing one, 511 is also a option.. ... Oh well but a 540 SBC is cool even though its not a 572.. LOL.

Yes, Sonnys makes a 1005 cu.in. engine. Last price figure I head was in the $110k range.

Re: 572 ci sbc

Yeah todays mountian motors are not your grandfathers pigblock. My buddy Bob wrenches for Deroll Hubbard / Joe Lapone on the PSCA / outlaw ProMods,, the Camaro is a 903 cu in Pat Musi nitrous motor,, Like you need nitrous with 903 inches!!

Frickin each SIDE of this motor is more cubic inches than my little 434 small block!!!

Re: 572 ci sbc

Its a damn shame that last time I was at the track it was a Toyota Supra Event and there were about a zillion Supras running 160+ quarters that were DRIVEN to the track, had AC, giant sound systems etc. SUCKS!!!!! Obviously all VERY turboed but drivable and many were making that much or more power. Don't get me wrong I HATE imports, it is just depressing what technology gets you these days.

I have seen some large cubic inch small blocks on alot Pro/Mods. Seen some monster 600-800 cubic inch on BBC's in then as well. But the King of motors I ever witness with my eyes & ears were Nitro-Methane Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro-Methane Funny cars. Note: Never stand near one of these when they fire them up. Raw Fuel coming out of the Zoomie headers burns! Stop, Drop, and roll...
