Camaro clip bumper mounting

Going to be starting the Camaro front end swap and I haven't seen any explanation of how to mount the front bumper to the Camaro frame.I think it has to be fabricated but would like to see some pics of someone elses job before I go the wrong way.

I drilled holes in a pair of pieces of angle iron to match the bumper bracket holes and then figured out where the angle iron needed to be mounted on the subframe. I used a rear steer subframe so it was a bit easier.

It's been 30 years but I blocked the bumper up in place on the truck and then started figuring out how I was going to mount it. You just have to mock it up and figure out what you need to fabricate to make it work.

I cut my sub just in front of the steering box on both sides then did as above by mocking up the bumper. I used 2" tubing for the frame and 1 3/4" for the bumper so it will slide in and pin in place. Once the tubing was tacked in the correct spot, I boxed the sub for a finished look. I did this in response to a guy with a low truck at a car show who said he wished he had made the bumper removable as it would facilitate floor jacks and maintenance better. I thought "why not?". I'll weld the tubing directly to the back of the bumper but I bought a plain bumper because I wanted to fill in the holes, etc. then have it chromed later. Not for everyone, but another idea to toss out there.

Was wondering if I would need to cut off the truck frame and mount the very front of it to the front of the camaro frame. Guess this is were the fabricating comes in. Want it to be functional and safe too.

Some guys have done that.
Here's what I did.
I also flipped my bumper to get it closer the the body.
Mine is a Chevelle clip but it will be similar to the Camaro.

I'd be honored. That's the beauty of forums like this, sharing ideas. I think mocking up the front and using the very front of the orig frame is the easiest way to do the job, especially if you want the stock look. I also flipped my bumper. I really didn't know which way was "up", so me and a couple of friends(critics) set the bumper up both ways and all agreed which was best. Later found out that way was upside down. Whoda thunk?

I used 1" square tubing and a level to locate the front bumper mounts then shaped the two pieces together

I forgot how mine went also. I looked at a bunch of picks and just didn't like how far out it stuck in the original position.
