Step side step brace
Installing the little things on my 56, I have two braces that attach to the steps, but cannot find where the other threaded end should attach, any ideas?
The brace is item 3 in the LMC cat, I circled the end (bolt and washer 7&8) I am unsure of in red. Photos would help..

Re: Step side step brace
Thanks, I guess I need to poke them in all the holes to see where they fit the best, lol. I think the po took them off to paint, they were in a box of parts for 20 plus years.

Re: Step side step brace
ogre's photo shows it well. in your original photo, the bottom of the brace bolts to the hole right up from #13. the top goes through the frame, with the attached nut on the outside, then you slide it through and put another nut on.
i know because i had to chisel completely rusted nuts off on mine this weekend! always use stainless! |

Re: Step side step brace
Yeah, it was the frame end that had me confused, all the rest go to the bed. To compound it, the po had cut them off and left the ends in the holes so was not sure which hole to use. Once I knew it went in the frame, found the stubs and removed them, all better now! Thanks again to all that helped, on to more little stuff.
