O.K. What size is the fuel line from the tank to the engine, 5/16" or 3/8"?

Yep 5/16 for 6 and 3/8 for V8.

But if the truck was converted from original motor, either six to eight or eight to six, you may have the opposite.
I converted my 69 from six to eight and used the 5/16th that it originally had with no problems. I'm sure the opposite is true.

Either will work. I ran 5/16's until I switched ou the sending unit, then I went all 3/8 since it needed replaced anyways. The 5/16's will feed most normal V8s just fine, now souped up ones....it runs a little low on the flow.
To me if you have to replace it, I'd go with 3/8"s regardless.

O.K. Thanks, My stepper was a factory V-8, so I'm guessing 3/8". I want to plumb up a new bed mounted tank and needed to make sure I have all I need before ripping it apart

5/16th for six cylinders and 307, the bigger V8's are 3/8th inch.

I just swapped out my 292 for a performance 350 and have had no trouble with the stock 5/16" lines.

6 cyl and 2 barrel v8's used 5/16".
