Cool Camouflage anyone has it?

Ok, so after seeing the camouflage blazer on the vette frame. I want to camouflage my truck, not sure if what poducts are used as for paint, maybe rusto satin rattle can?
Anyone on here ever done this, any pointers on how to get this look.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

I painted my quad camo with the krylon camouflage rattle cans. Turned out good. I just painted right on the plastics after pressure washing, for a truck I'd sand and spray. Pics feature a little mud, lol.

After

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

google images (cucv paint job) within the first 5 pages youll see templets you can project on your truck so you can tape and spray

i would spray a coat or rusto bedliner for texture then spray the krylon and if you wont it real dull get some duplacolor flat clear dont worry about sand paper lol

i was thinking about camo on my truck still havent got a clue what i wana paint it

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

Thanks, guys...I'm thinking about a black satin base coat (rusto, cause I'm being cheap) and rusto camouflage rattle cans for camo. Not a fan of krylon for metal, but it does work and look good on plastics.
What's the smallest compressor I can use for the base coat on a 84 swb?
Since its not a problem to do a panel at a time. Thanks.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

I would do the green as the base coat. Then black since it will cover the green better then spray the brown......I did all my colors one at a time with the rattle cans and found when I tried to cover the black with the green it had to be done in multiple coats. But on the other hand this may be a rattle can issue.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

Here is another one that i looked at before I did mine.

But I must say I don't like it when people tape off the patterns. I makes the lines too crisp. If you look at a real military vehicle you will see the pattern colors fade into one another. Tape off windows and stuff like that.....Make sure you Freehand your patterns I think it makes it look way better and is less work.

Lol my 84 K20 is 3 different shades of blue, now I'm thinking camo would look a heck of a lot better.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

Yup I printed some copys of that. There is also one for a M1008. That is the pick up CUCV. My pattern is very loosely based on the M1009 Pattern.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

It's waterborn now and not as nasty as it used to be. But sanding the old stuff can be dangerous.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

I used both , but really like the waterborne because of clean up. The Carc single component dries real quick and very rough like sandpaper.

Re: Camouflage anyone has it?

I love CARC! I work for a corrosion research company out here in Ocean City so we do all kinds of tests with CARC, seaguard, nova and a couple of the other coatings. We're doing work for the MRAPs and the EMALS rig at the moment. It is pretty nasty stuff, but the corrosion protection alone makes me want to go with a military theme instead of Texaco...

Not to mention you're safe from mustard gas!
