sbc a/c question

Am looking at some sbc a/c brackets. seller (not on this site) has them listed as 67-72 fitment "for short water pump".

so, if for the short pump, wouldn't these just be for 67-68 only? i.e. didn't chevy switch to the long water pump on all 69 models? Wouldn't 69 and up bracekts be different?

Thanks in advance.

Re: sbc a/c question

When GM did the big switch I thought trucks and 'vettts kept the short pump for a while longer at least through '72. Here is a very complicated illustration for you to check p/n applications against. Dig out your parts manual or use the online wiki.

Re: sbc a/c question

ok - thanks all, that makes sense - I saw some other material that stated vette/trucks common thru 75 and that they were not the same as the passenger cars. So, that would make sense. Good to know - short pump on the 350 thru 72 at least.
Thanks!

Re: sbc a/c question

73 was the first year of lwp on trucks. Vette used swp until C4 in 84.
