Re: 69 GMC Short Stepside
Finally got her running. But having a problem getting the shift linkag to work right. Might be the steering column I got for free. My truck was originally a 3 on the tree, so I put in an automatic column I got from a friend. Can't get the column to match up with the right gear on the selector. Might have to just go to a floor shift. It's frustrating all the "mod's" I have to do to this truck. It will be worth it when it hits the road though.

Re: 69 GMC Short Stepside
Did you use the Radiator and shroud from the 81? I want to put a larger clutch fan on but my shroud is too small. You should check this stuff out I soaked all my rusty bolts and clips over night and they came out nice and clean with a black oxide color on them non toxic or corrosive. Around $8 at Auto Zone for a qt.

Re: 69 GMC Short Stepside
I used the radiator and shroud from the 77, the shroud took 1/2 a day to cusomized so it would work in mine. Trimmed and trimmed some more, I think I had to install and remove the radiator and shroud 8 times b4 I got it to look and fit right.
I will check out that stuff, thnx for the input. |
