Vintage License plate question

I am wanting to buy a vintage 1968 Kansas License plate to put on my truck.
What im uncertain about is the type of tag I need to get to be authentic and correct.
From what im finding it should read "Truck 8M-Regular" for a 1/2 ton pickup is that correct?

i know here in ga u can use a year correct tag to any antique vehicle as long as its before 1970 and all u do is take your ga vintage tag to the tag office nad they put it in the system and you keep ur up to date tag under the seat and can run your gavintage tag on your antique atleast thats how it is here....maybe kansas is the same hope that helps some....

Maybe I should have been more specific.
Kansas doesnt require valid tags to be on the front of the vehicle only the back and I want to run the vintage tag on the front only as a "yes its a 1968 c10" badge.

I believe it just has to be authentic 68 tag not necessarily based on the weight of vehicle. I have three for my truck one had someones name registered so I had to get a different one.

The "8M Regular" you refer was a sticker that was placed on the bottom of the license plate in '68 and was for a 1/2-ton. 3/4 ton would be 12M Reguar, Farm, Commercial, etc.
"Truck" was embossed into the plate, probably on the left side next to the two-letter county designation.

The plate in the photo is '69, but you get the idea.

Check eBay. There's lot of plates for sale, including someone who, based on the fact they seem to have a lot of Brown, Jackson and Shawnee county plates, makes me think they are somewhere around Topeka.
