Dropmembers ?
Ok I know about the PB and the scotts drop members but surely there are more companies making them who all makes these for our trucks? I just wanna check around and see what's there to work with and explore the possibility of something else

Re: Dropmembers ?
pb invented, and designed the dropmember, If I ever have the funds for something like that ,my $$$$ will go to him, I know free enterprise ,and capitalism and all that, but it is sad to see someone buy his design , re-engineer it, and then sell it cheaper than he does to under cut his business.
for other options, check out dinos suburban(? I think) build for some shots of a pancaked X member, I think there is also a company that sells a kit for notching and pancaking the x member., since I don't have a lot of money to play with, this is an option i was thinking about.

Re: Dropmembers ?
Great respect for Porterbuilt and Scott's- they offer awesome products.
I elected to design and build my own dropmember. mainly for the satisfaction of being a true home built project. First to admit, mine is not a showpiece like the others, but it works, is strong and achieved what I was after. If this was a customers' project, I would highly recommend buying one of the other's- mine would not be cost-effective to hand build on an as-needed basis. I have no idea how many actual man hours I have invested in this, again it was an exercise in testing my abilities. I also have no grand illusions of trying to produce a product to compete with anyone. |
