67 No Dimple Frame Power Steering bracket ?
Been reading up on adding Power Steering to a 67 and have ran into some conflicting results as to wether 67 trucks with the no dimple frame would need the aftermarket brackets made by several companies. I've seen some guys use hardened washers and grade 8 bolts and call it a day. Others say to use the bracket to avoid causing sway/play and cracking the frame with time.

Or you can heat it up and use a BFH to create the dimple, like a lot of guys have done.

Check this out, it's the nicest adapter set up I have seen for your situation.

Re: 67 No Dimple Frame Power Steering bracket ?
I have the same prob owning a '67. I have done some research and seen others who had bad results with a spacer causing some twitchy shimmy and vibration. apparently the spacer will pull the center link off center causing weird geometry so clearencing the frame is the option I will be going with. I am going to cut out a section and weld in a formed piece of steel rather than the BFH method.

The only way to do it right is to dimple the frame. Either method works, heat and BFH, or cut out and replace with dimpled piece. |

One of the newest options now,... convert to rack and pinion steering.
Several vendors are selling them now.

Yea. Eventually that's the route I want to take. This is something for the meanwhile so the truck is drivable. Kinda why I don't want to beat up the frame.
