Ok, I have this one. It is an original lock,, but the key is a hokey Wal Mart version. $15.00 shipped. Thanks, Fred.

Re: WTB Glove Box Lock w/key (GM)
Fred,
is the actual latch part still in there? It looks empty in those pictures. That is a very strange, funky lookin' key. Is there any I.D. number on the lock or key so that I might be able to go to a dealer and get a GM key for it? Thanks. |

trk101,
is it an original GM issue or a foreign knock-off? GM key with the code on it? Thanks. |

Damn, you are right, that is a terrible picture. Yes, the latch is there, just can't see it for my remarkable camera skills. I do not see a code, but my vision is even worse than my photography skills. Thanks, Fred

If it has a code on it it would be on the removable plug that the key goes into... LockDoc

LocDoc, "removeable plug" ?? Where is that? Not sure what you are talking about. Can you give more detail on this please?
Thanks. 72 |

Re: WTB Glove Box Lock w/key (GM)
Original keys had a rectangle knockout, right where it would go on your keyring if it was a square headed key
That knockout is where the numbers where stamped, then you could keep the plug in a safe plce to have a duplicate made

Thanks. |

The push button (where the key goes in) is also called a plug and it can be removed if you have the right tool. That way it can be re-keyed or replaced. LockDoc
