I know there are probably tons of threads about this already, but finding them has proven time consuming on phone lol.

1988 V10 Burb, current tires are getting weather-checked and I am starting to plan for the upcoming tire expenses. It currently has 29.5in tires on it, I need to post tire sizes, but I want to know what size tires it will clear before needing mods? Also, how much will the increased tire size affect mpgs?

when I first got my 2wd burn it had 31 on the back. my dad also has a 90 k5 that has 33s at factory height if I remember right. a friend of mine is also runnin 31 on his 77 k10 believe it's factory height too. hope this helps

Since you have a 4wd,on 8" wheels you can fit 11.50/32-15s. Those aren't made by many any more,but are the biggest that work w/o a lift. 12.50/33s will work with minimal lift to just the front. I took my '90 Blazer to the spring shop and had them arch and add a leaf for $200. The most commonly run larger size is 10.50/31 and that's the biggest the factory offered. You can go taller and skinnier with 9.50/33 BFGs with no problem.

Thanks fellas, the information you two provided helps quite a bit. I think that I'll go with 33's and just buy a lift off my buddy around the corner, says he's got a 4 incher laying around in the garage.... the only bad part about this is that the little lady (5'2") will have do a little climbing lol.
