Fred's Truck Drags in Sacramento Oct 21

Not sure if anyone around this site could make it, but I met Fred himself this last weekend. He has been running this event for a few years now and it has gained some popularity in the area. Here is a link to it.

I would be interested to see what would happen if you threw a sollid roller lifter on that cam. I did it with an old Crane hydraulic roller when a SpeedPro retro hydraulic rollers went bad, and I had a race the next weekend. Crane told me the lobe is flat on a roller, not tipped like a flat tappet and the cam doesn't know what kind of lifter is above the roller,,, be it solid or hdraulic. They said the ramps are milder on hydraulic roller grind and lift is reduced. But basically the cam 'should' work better with a solid lifter. I tried it but didn't have any realitive data to compare to,, just to say that I cut the best string of perfect / 0.000-0.002 lights that race than I have EVER done. Not that it had anything to do with the lights, but it ran really good in the heat and pretty darn consistant for a little 10:1 383 with nothing very special at all.
