trubo 6 cyl maybe??
so I was thinking about my son's 70 its got the 6 cyl. in it now but I have a 327 for it. we havent started anything yet for the driveline but I have a brand new turbo sitting on the shelf that I didnt use in a previous project, maybe I should turbo the 6 cyl and sell the 327. I dont see many of these trucks running around with the 6 anymore let alone a turbo charged one.
what do you guys think? |

Re: trubo 6 cyl maybe??
I have been wanting to do this for a daily driver truck. Do a google search and it's pretty easy to find some companies that manufacture the intakes and exhaust manifolds to put one together. Seems to make pretty good power

Re: trubo 6 cyl maybe??
Gosh, I hope there's a lot of replies on this. I've been wanting to turbo my 56 235. Seems everybody wants to install a blower. Turbos to me, seem more economical as they're using exhaust. Let's see what happens!!

Re: trubo 6 cyl maybe??
I am going to go this route with my truck, but only if the original 250 is still good. I think a turbo 6 would be great. I have a sentimental attachment to that engine as well as the truck.

Re: trubo 6 cyl maybe??
Check out my build and if you have any specific questions please ask... I literally did a couple hundred hours of research but if you want to do a turbo L6 get ready to shell out some cash to do it right but that is true with any turbo setup.

Re: trubo 6 cyl maybe??
Okay so I removed the motor this weekend so I can tear it down to check all the internals. I do have a question though how do I tell if I have a 250 or a 292? are the blocks the same or are there identifying marks on it.

The two metal covers on the side of the block are different, 250's are 4" high, 292's are 6" high. There are other differences but that is the easiest for me to remember... LockDoc
