Easiest way to tell is to remove the bulbs and shine a flashlight through and look at the front of the cluster. It's just like lighting up a bulb in there.

I pulled the lenses out though, that's the problem. I can read the lenses just fine, I just don't know which guage gets which lens.

The lenses should only fit in one way. The little tabs that poke through them are in different places, you can't mix it up. Just did this on mine.

Ok guys, the two lenses that go in the speedo and gas guage are the exact same dimensions, between the two is brake, fasten seat belt, 4x4 and service engine. If there was only one way everything went together I wouldn't be asking this question.......

Thank you exfordman, I'm sure my 87 is the same as yours. Probably only differences is service engine is substituted for choke. Thanks!!

Re: Lost track of idiot lights......help!

I'm not trying to be a Richard Cranium, but on my 83 at least, the two little parts that protrude through the holes in the actual lens section (that say 4x4, choke, etc) were in different locations depending on the lens. My lenses could only go in one way. I wasn't trying to sound sarcastic, and I'd rather not get that back from you. I was only trying to help.
