ok... this is just my opinion. but. the thing that makes real patina look real is the rust. no amount of under coats or sanding top coats or primer coats black or ruddy brown will really work without rust. in the high wear areas the rust helps the look and its gotta have stone chips and drill holes and small dents. you got to do some damage for the fauxtina to be right. sand that primer to metal in high wear spots and let a year of rust develop.
like i said... just my opinion.

its every bit as hard to get fauxtina right as it is to do a paint job.
