never introduced myself
oops i just started posting to the forums with out giving my back ground.
my name is Walter and i live in Texas. i was an ase master heavy/med truck tech and had been working on diesels for the past 15 years or so. i was involved in a motorcycle/truck accident in 2008 that resulted in extensive injuries and the loss of my left leg above the knee. i was on my bike and got hit head on at 55mph, an accident i wasn't supposed to survive but by the grace of GOD i did. the kid that hit me (19yo) had nothing-no insurance,d.l.,registration or inspection. he didn't even come down the ditch to check on me. what he told the police was that he had been trying to change his steering wheel the day before but couldn't get it off and didn't put any of the hardware back on, but it came off in his hand when he came into the curve. he spent the night in jail then bonded out and left the state. so now i piddle around with my projects when i feel up to it and do what i can. i do have a prosthetic but due to my leg actually being crushed off and my back being tore up i cant stand to wear it for more than about 30 min at a time, besides i get around faster and better with out it on. its not as bad as you would think, i have my days when i do get upset about not being able to walk then i remember that at least i am still alive. |
