63-72 Hotchkis TVS

BUILD THE ULTIMATE C10 PICKUP
Hotchkis TVS for 1963-72 Chevy Trucks provides sports car handling, a slammed stance and a comfortable ride.

•Tuned, balanced system provideds incredible handling, traction and driver control
•Lowers front 4" and rear 6" for a killer stance while improving factory geometry
•Extends wheelbase 1.8" for stability and centers wheels in the wheelwell for aesthetics
•Adjustable rear anti-squat system improves traction for high-powered pickups
•Competition proven: Most Goodguys autocross truck class wins of any bolt-on system

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (Nov., 2010) – Sport truck builders no longer have to compromise on ride and handling to achieve the perfect stance - the new Hotchkis Total Vehicle System for 1963-72 Chevrolet C10 pickups is the most complete high performance bolt-on suspension system ever offered for classic pickups, providing the perfect slammed stance, supercar handling and a family-friendly ride. Technology born on the high-banked ovals of stock car racing and proven in Goodguys and Optima Ultimate Street Car competition means your C10 can out-handle a new muscle car, and it can be installed in your driveway with basic hand tools.

The system includes Tubular Upper and Lower Control Arms up front which extend the wheelbase 1.8” to center the wheels within the wheel wells for increased stability and a better look. Geometry is improved by increasing caster alignment up to +9°. The camber curve is improved, and bump steer is corrected with a new center link assembly and heavy duty tie rod sleeves. Ride height is optimized with sport lowering springs, and a 1-7/16” front sway bar reduces body roll and control the bumps along with the Hotchkis Tuned/Bilstein shocks and shock relocator brackets. The rear of the truck gets an adjustable full length track bar setup, an adjustable anti-squat bracket system improving the truck's instant center for maximum traction. A ¾” blade style sway bar reduces body roll. Ride height is lowered four inches in front and six inches in the rear.

Thanks to nearly a year of street and track testing the new Hotchkis C10 TVS achieves a perfect balance of comfortable ride quality, incredible handling and incredible traction under hard acceleration. Hotchkis equipped C10 pickups have won more Goodguys Autocross truck class gold than any other system, Hotchkis equipped C10s took two out of the top three slots in a recent pickup truck shootout and a TVS equipped C10 also placed in the Top 10 of the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational autocross out of nearly 60 entries - nearly all of which were sports and pro-touring cars. The complete Hotchkis C10 TVS is designed, tested and manufactured in the USA. Components are powdercoated for maximum durability all necessary hardware is included.

Re: 63-72 Hotchkis TVS

I have head everything on the Hotchkis website and couldn't ever find the answers from reading on the website and I couldn't find the answers after downloading the installation instructions from the Hotchkis website.

1. This TVS kit works with C-10 Trucks from 1963-1972? I am just asking because the kit listed on your site and the installation instructions state it is for a 1967-1972 C-10 Truck.

2. To achieve the 4" drop in front do you need to use regular OEM spindles or do you have to use OEM or CPP 2" drop spindles from a 73-87 C-10? I read through the instructions at least a half dozen times and the instructions never addressed that issue.

3. Will this kit work with a 1965 C10 if I want add power steering to my C10 from a 73-87 C10?

These were the only three questions I had that were not addressed by the website or the installation instructions. Answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated. And I am pretty sure that I am going to go with the Hotchkis TVS kit for my 1965 C10.

Thanks,

Travis

Re: 63-72 Hotchkis TVS

Travis, Here's a few answers.

After we printed the instructions, we brought in a few 1963-66 shortbed C10 pickups for testing and found the system works on that platform as well.

2. To achieve the 4" drop in front do you need to use regular OEM spindles or do you have to use OEM or CPP 2" drop spindles from a 73-87 C-10? I read through the instructions at least a half dozen times and the instructions never addressed that issue.
Yes, you can use either spindle.

3. Will this kit work with a 1965 C10 if I want add power steering to my C10 from a 73-87 C10?
It should, but we haven’t tested that in R&D so we can’t be 100% sure.

Mine just showed up today... I did my homework before I bought, and I come from a racing background, so I was pretty sure I knew what I was getting into. But I opened up the boxes, and my jaw hit the floor! This is some seriously nice stuff, the lower control arms are a work of art! It's going to be a bit before I'll have it on the road, and the wait just got 100 times more painful. Thanks for the great product!

Re: 63-72 Hotchkis TVS

Can you run 2" drop spindles up front with the 4" springs or is that not recommended? I thought I have read that Rob Phillips truck sits a little lower than the 4/6 drop the kit provides. I plan to get this kit for my 72 but want it to sit as low as possible.

So, with the 4" drop spring, do you end up with 6-7" drop depending on spindles? Seems intuitive, but the answers thus far are a little cloudy...

Re: 63-72 Hotchkis TVS

Hello,

Not sure where to turn so I'll post something here in hopes it can be resolved.

I recently ordered a TVS kit for my 68 Chevy, October 23rd, but the delivery date has been pushed out numerous times and now I'm stuck wondering when I'll see this. The currently scheduled date is set for delivery December 30th. Can you shed some light on the issues that Hotchkis is facing? Is it going through a redesign or a possible safety issue?

Thanks in advance

What size rims and tires can someone use with this kit? Can I use this kit and get a prostreet look? Big fatties in the back?
