Hello all 68 Chevy stepside

New member here, just thought i'd start my introduction and to meet all of you. I am really new to this, not use to working on such older vehicles and thought I'd like to try to kick it back old school and purchased a 68 Chevy stepside with a 292 and Powerglide transmission. I am 25yrs old and been working on cars since I was 18. Currently I am in the military, so between work, household chores, and lack of a lot of funds Truck progress has been slow. I bought the truck for $800, running with a bad powerglide. So far i've been doing a lot of rust removal and preservation with just sanding and sealing. been finding a lot of bondo'd areas. I've been lurking these boards for help and so far it has been phenominal. So any tips and tricks would be greatful.

Re: Hello all 68 Chevy stepside

I am just trying to restore it near factory. Nothing fancy. May add a/c. String to rebuild it as a present for my dad.
