No, it would work just the opposite. The way it works is it is in dual capacity operation when cold. When the engine reaches around 160, the solenoid opens and functions as single capacity. So in other words, it would always be squirting extra gas in.

I have an extra that I bought from one of the guys on here a few months ago. I thought my truck was going to need one, but it turns out that the carb wasn't the problem. I paid 75 for it. I was told that it worked fine when it was removed, but I haven't actually tried it out. If you're interested, I can send it to you. If it turns out the carb doesn't work, I'll send you the money back. Of course, if it were me, I'd use it as an excuse to get the edelbrock 1904.

i appreciate the offer, but what i've done is eliminate the system altogether. it was tied in with the ESC, the only thing remaining from the ESC is the hole in the firewall and the control module under the dash, because i havent got around to pulling it out yet.

so what else did you have to remove? Can you use your old distributor? I only ask, because, I think I will wind up doing the same thing eventually.

i could've used the old distrubutor, but since i thought i had a bad one i put a standard vac advance HEI in it. if you remove it, you'll also have to rewire the TCC lockup as its part of that harness if i remember correctly.
