Re: Backspace recommendations
That is awesome you will be driving the 68 everyday! Very cool.
For backspacing, I would recommend a 17x8 w/ 4.75", and a 18x10 with 4.75". With an 17/18 combo, you do have some room to fill fenderwells, which is good and allows you to run a large side wall. You could run a 255/50/17 up front, which is about 27" tall, and a 295/45/18 on the rear which is about 28.31" tall. What wheels did you have in mind? Travis |

Re: Backspace recommendations
They are nice wheels and have that classic 5-spoke design to them.
A few options along those lines: American Racing CL205 - Custom Built Showwheel Streeters - 1 piece and will have to use .75" spacer. Billet Specialties Mag - Custom Built Just a few options depending on budget. |

Re: Backspace recommendations
We are running 18 x 8 fronts with 4-1/2 backspacing and 255/45R18's and 18 x 9-1/2 rear with 4-3/4 backspacing with 295/45R18's. Just for fun I put the 295's on the front just to see how they would fit. (see pic below) The truck is on jack stands currently, hence the huge gap above the tire in the fenderwell, but I was surprised at how well the wider tire fit. This is with a 2-1/2 ECE drop spindle. This may give you a good "visual" starting point. These trucks have a huge amount of clearance for tires, especially when you're doing a mild drop.
