Re: Dash pads
It looks to me like the PO of mine took some spray fabric glue similar to what you'd use for a subwoofer cover and stretched fabric over it. I'll get a pic tonight for you. It's a bit dirty but it looks better than a cracked one.

Re: Dash pads
I scour Craigslist for parts and was lucky to find a crack free dashpad for $50, the guy that had it did a resto back in 1996 and ordered this new from GM I traveled 2 hours to get it.
I would give CL a look you might luck out.

Re: Dash pads
Damn, I really need to check what board I'm posting in before hand... Mine's a 68 dash pad, although I have seen the same thing done for later model dashes. Most fabric places have cans of spray glue and you just spray it on and let it get a bit tacky then tightly stretch the fabric over the contours.

Re: Dash pads
Ajledezma, those dash pads look great! Do they have any provisions for speaker holes on the two ends? Would be interested in more info about getting one done.

Re: Dash pads
Peeled off all the old vinyl, used expanding foam to give it a more contoured look and fill in the cracks, covered it with Armstrong pergo floor insulation, and two layers of khaki denim material.

Re: Dash pads
You could hear mine through the material, and they were the originals that amazingly still worked!
