Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

My K5 Blazer just got out from painting today. Now it's on to the color sanding and I can take it home and start the interior. It looks good...... again.

Also got the engine hoist from my neighbor so I can hopefully get the 350 yanked from the 81 Shorty real soon and start working on that.

Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

Went out for a nice Sunday drive in the dually for my birthday after church, and this thing just decided to follow me home. I know momma said not to feed it or it wouldn't leave, but I had some extra high test that I just wasn't using, no sense in going to waste

Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

Just got back from a 10-day trip to the Colorado River in Parker, AZ. No a/c, but Ol' Faithful purred like a kitten from L.A. to AZ. Warmest day was 120 degrees F. Gas prices were about 60 cents cheaper a gallon in Parker than in L.A.

Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

Picked up a grille from a 85-87 silverado at the swap meet yesterday for $15 in perfect condition. It had the red stripe in the middle so I took it apart to clean it up and polish all the trim when I noticed the centers arent painted they have a vynal decal. I original was gonna peel it off and paint the center blue to match the truck but it looked too cool just polished up! let me know what you think....I think chrome headlight surrounds would look better than the painted silver but we will see.

Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

Took my '86 dually back to the paint shop to get one of the dual fenders repainted. Had a bit of bubbling from the first spray.

Other than that, there was a bit of combining of the wheat going on.....I found some time on the side to build myself a template for making round BBQ grills.

Good weekend, until it rained...

Re: what did you get done 9/9/12 edition

Picked up a truck bed trailer today. '73 - '77(78?) 3/4 - 1 ton frame long bed fleet side. Sky blue/dirt brown/rust red in color for $200.00
It is a dual tank bed without fuel filler doors. Just round openings on either side where the filler necks fit through.

Just about ready for paint. Good thing too, as I am getting about tired of looking at it. Maybe this feeling will subside after she's all 1 color.

Right now the bone stock 80k mi 350 mated to the SM465 4 speed. When I get around to it, I'm swapping with a LQ4 6.0L.
