alright. This is the first thread I have done. I will go back and add photos later of before and now. Lucinda, as I call her, started off as a daily driver for six years. One day I started her up to go to the store to get some ice for my sweet tea(Georgia Wine!) and had my shoes covered in melting wire casing. Sad part is I had a wiring kit in the pass. floorboard. So a friend said "hey, while she's down, might as well restore her". Almost three years later and still no Lucinda. Good news is she is going on the rollback this weekend and taking a 4 month vacation worth 3500. Can't wait.

Hmmmm. Intrigued for sure! Either your roof was totally rotted out and you simply replaced it or......there's some pictures of a chop top coming our way!

completely rotted out. when we removed the windsheild half of the bondoed roof came with it.

you can see here, even the donor roof needed some tlc.

yeah but it would take alot of looking. i live on the coast between jacksonville and savannah, the salty humid air tends to eat em up.

actually no. some one really took the time to one cheek this truck. like i said the roof(including drip rail) was bondo. the rockers were cardboard and fiberglass, and no lie, the ONLY bolts in the whole front clip were the 4 top fender bolts. but when i bought it, the single stage paint and body was amazing. a year down the road and some miles, she started coming apart.

with that said, you have to know me. i become incredibly attached to my vehicles. so i felt obligated to not trash her cab, but to build her back up.

anyways.... we did not. because the rockers and bottom a pillar's were shot the back of the truck, as my bodyman said, "laid out". so we chopped the top, then welded new rockers, floorpans, a pillars, etc. bolted the doors on where we wanted them, and welded frame straightners on the side of the cab. we then pulled the back of the cab back in place and welded the new roof on....hope this makes sense, it really didnt to me when he explained what steps he was going to take. sorry for the long explanation.

so it is now at another shop. A buddy and I loaded her up on the rollback and took her to a town about 45 minutes away. I hated doing that but i had too, my other body man moved away and put his house up for sale. so I will definitely make sure on my trips to work on her I take plenty of pics, I know how everyone loves them. Here are a few of what she looked like before the move.
