Rims & Tires

Fellows, I have a 92 GMC Sierra regular cab. I am in the market for some wheels and tires in a 20x8.5 (F) and a 20x10 (R) but my question is what backspace do they need to be for a perfect fit with no scrubbing and the clerence with turning or anything.

As far as tires I was thinking 245-45-20 for the F & R

Re: Rims & Tires

Are you lowered? If so, how much?

I ran a 20x8.5 w/ 5 3/4" BS and a 20x10 with 6" BS on my bagged 94.

Hey Jwall, did you have the fender lips rolled or custom inner fenders on the front? Im about to take my truck to 5/7 static with those size wheels and trying to figure out a good BS to avoid rubbing while turning. Mine has stock inner fenders with a rolled lip.

I had rolled fenders and modified (basically none) inner fender wells.
But you should be able to keep your factory inner fenders @ 5/7.

Re: Rims & Tires

Would you recommend the BS you have or a little less to keep from rubbing the inner well while turning.? Yours look like they stick in pretty far (i guess they have to be if the truck is bagged). I think I remember somebody telling me 5.0 worked good on the front with 5 inch drop but I havent measured anything out yet.

Re: Rims & Tires

I'd go with around a 5 1/2" backspacing
