Re: Hugger orange in 69??
I'm unsure if it was Hugger orange, but there are factory orange trucks here, even some '69s.

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
From looking at this color chart it looks like they just called it orange in 69.

I think of`69 when I hear Hugger Orange,but prolly from Camaros.But,it wasn`t on trucks until`70.It`s code # is 534.It was also called Red Orange.The orange in`69 was 516.

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
I understand that the red/orange in '69 is the same as the later hugger orange.

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
This reminds me of an epesode of 'TRUCKS' with Stacy David talking about the 'SS' 496 silverado that Terry Delong built(wow.. all from memory).
He called it Grabber Orange in the show. Here is a write up in Sport Truck Man I love these trucks... Last edited by Kayotic; 03-06-2009 at 03:10 PM. |

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
I don`t believe ther was a Red Orange in`69.Red Orange is the same as Hugger Orange. There was Yellow,Dark Yellow,Orange,Flame Red,and Red.`69 had alot of 1 year colors.

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
I thought hugger orange was only avilable in the 72 models. What color of orange was the 327-350 motors back then?

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
OK, does anyone have a picture of a SPID on a 1969 truck with any kind of orange paint? I'm trying to get the correct code for this color.

Re: Hugger orange in 69??
No SPID,but here`s the chart:
Too small, but I think the `69 Orange is just Omaha Orange, the fleet color that is still the same.Think Allied Van Lines,Asplundt,Roadway,or Yellow.Go to www.autocolorlibrary.com and see #516.
