Shock part numbers ? Bilstiens anyone?

70 GMC SWB, Coil spring rear. ECE relocation brackets in the rear.

4.5/6" drop acheived by 2.5" spindles and 2" springs up front, with 6" drop spring in the rear. McGaughys spindles, big brakes, (if that matters) Hotchkis springs, Hellwig sways.

I'm looking for Bilstien shocks. Does anyone have a similar setup and may possibly have part numbers for the right length I need?

Hotchkis has adapters with their springs where you can adjust the rear drop if you need to. (essentially 5.5" rear drop) But I will get it as low as I can without notching.

KYB ? .. what would you run? I wouldn't need shock relocation up front with a 2" spring drop correct? Ideas? Suggestions?

RCD has spec'ed Bilstein shocks and they basically fit the same as stock spec shocks. CPP sells them (as I am sure others do) but for some reason they don't list online the rear ones for coil setup, only the leaf. They have them in their computer though, you just have to ask.

'63-'72 Fronts are # 55-R033
'63-'72 Leaf Rears are # 55-R042
'63-'72 Coil Rears are # 55-R034

I have put them on my '65 Panel but I have not driven it yet so I can't comment on the ride. I am also using a rear shock relocation kit. I am still doing some mock up to verify I can get the axle to touch the frame (without stock bump stops) and not bottom out the shocks.

If you are going to ever notch the frame, these would be too long in the rear.

Rat, dunno if you've purchased already, but if you don't mind the 'traditional' Bilstein yellow/blue vs the black RCD/CPP shocks, you can save a little cash by using these part numbers:

Front - 24-192941 (F4-B46-1185-H2)
Rear - 24-002486 (F4-B46-0248-H0)

That's what I purchased and have sitting on the shelf, but have yet to install. Definitely good at stock height, but may need relocation on dropped trucks. Check out my build thread for compressed/extended lengths here. I will likely be relocating the upper mounts both front and rear, but they may work without it...

The sizes may be similar but the rebound valve will be different. Belltech shocks are designed around lowered/performance suspension when most of brands are designed around OE suspension.
