Need help IDing bed length

Hello

Can anyone tell me if this is an 8' or 8'6" bed?

Is this a rare or common option?

Thanks

That is an 8'6" bed. It is not so much an option as a model. If it were a Chevrolet it would be badged as a Longhorn. GMC didn't badge or call their trucks Longhorns. The boxed in sections are not factory and look to have been added over the stock wheel housings. Are there door through the outside of the bed or on top? Possibly a fuel tank inside each?

Longhorns were a stand alone truck model built on the 1 ton truck chassis with the longer 133"wb vs the normal longbeds 127"wb. They were offered sprung as C20 or C30s.

GMC production of these was lower than Chevrolet but no actual production numbers are currently available for GMCs.

Nice color combo that is not seen too often.

Here is an example of an aftermarket door sometimes seem on dedicated camper equipped trucks. This is also a Longhorn, in fact the only one I know of in Hawaii. It is now black and was on CL for sale.

I don't have any other info as this truck is for sale on an online classified ad. I am interested as a buyer.

The extra storage in the bedsides would come in handy!

Do you think it would be hard to find parts if this is not a factory conversion on a 1 ton frame?

I'm looking to buy a C20 Longhorn myself, parts are out there as far as I've seen so far.

Re: Need help IDing bed length

Maybe there is some confusion. This is a factory truck. The boxes inside are not. The Longhron actually has few model specific parts. Those are for the most part the box extension and box sides. Everything else is pretty much interchangeable.

Bedside storage is something I need to clarify. The reason I asked about box doors is that they were unused space with a camper sometimes. Most campers had inside doors to access this area with a camper on the truck. Problem is you can't get to it from the outside and you need to clear it to pull the camper. So sometimes you will see boxes like these with door cut through the bed for access from the outside. Its not to use the space between the inner and outer bedside.

Looks like a clean truck. Rusty much??
