Overdue 71 Chevy build
Since everything until now was "unbuild" I decided to start my build thread with the first productive thing I've done to it. Already stripped everything off the frame and removed the manual crossmember and the rear crossmember for the blazer tank. Today was:
BAGS!!! It's a whole lot easier when you can flip the frame and drill from above. |

Re: Overdue 71 Chevy build
Sidetracked with life and wanting to install exhaust pass-through. First day in a long while I didn't see the temp get over 90:
Hope to get more done tomorrow. |

Re: Overdue 71 Chevy build
Is that the final color the frame is going to be? looks really nice, I am just used to seeing black everywhere. Also like the pipe pass throughs, that will make it look a lot cleaner.

Re: Overdue 71 Chevy build
I need to apply one more coat to see for sure but I think it will wind up pretty close. Wanting a grapefruit/white two tone on the body so this should work pretty well. Next frame I do will be powdercoated though. I really don't like painting all these nooks and crannies. One reason it's taking so long to get to the last coat.

Re: Overdue 71 Chevy build
Got a little done today. Been painting last week and finally got to the point where I can bolt on the front crossmember. New grade 8 hardware goes on much easier than the old crusty 40 something hardware.
