setting up four link??
I am welding my rear triangulated 4 link brackets on this week. Does anyone have a clue on how to start setting this up? Also where do i measure from to find center in the frame for the rearend. Is the rear centered from side to side on these trucks or were they offset to one side?? Thanks (1983 c10 1/2 ton)

I think all chevy's sit of to one side, I forget how much. You will want to split the difference between the frame rails to the backing plates. Before you weld up anything make sure it works right and double and triple check all your measurements. Think it out and you will do fine. You have made it this far! Keep up the good work!

How come you didn't run a par. 4 link? I prefer doing a par. when I can. Less chance of it binding up.

the pinoin on the 12 bolt is offset to the passenger side......I dont remember the exact figure either. When I set my longhorn up, I used a straightedge off the axle shaft faces to center the housing in the frame. I am setting up ladder bars, so i cant say on the top tri bars. Good luck, crazyL

I already have the top tri bars mounted as they go to a fabricated plate that mounts on the housing of the axle. I am really just wondering about the rear being center side to side and front to rear.

Fastbagged I ran a tri set up as at the time I was told that it was a good thing to use. Also my tri bar setup differs a little from what others here I have seen that did not like it to well. My bars run from the sides of the frame to the center of the rearend. Also my lower bars run from the stock leaf mounts to the axle. It should work fine I hope!! They are also short less than 24" long and should not sway side to side.

tri 4 link
Hey man, I just installed a tri 4 link on a 55 chev 1/2 ton. Yes the lower bars need to be centered side to side and front to rear. Also remember that you need to have the lower bars and the upper bars level with each other or you could get some suspension bind. Good luck.

I have the front crossmember notch and lower skid plate raised up also. Running turners upper and lower a arms as well as airbags. Running a mustang 2 rack and pinion (manual). In the rear I have a tri angulated 4 link and a frame notch. The frame is curently powdercoated but will be redone (jumped ahead of myself).
