Voltmeter replacing Ammeter

Has anyone ever replaced the ammeter in the stock guage cluster with a voltmeter? It would be nice to put something in there that looked like it belonged. The ammeters are only able to handle 30-50 amps, and the new systems with stereos, A/C, electric fans, and other power robbing accesories, they are actually a fire hazard. This came from American Autowire, so their kit doesn't have a provision to hook it up. Most alternators now would have to be 100 amp. The stock ammeter hardly ever moved, you had to watch the needle very close. A volmeter in its place, about the same size, and kind of matching the other guages would be cool. It would be great to buy something like that and install it, nice feature too.

Re: Voltmeter replacing Ammeter

Another member here has replaced the ammeter with a voltmeter, but I can't remember who it was. It seems like he found one that looked pretty good.
