Re: Wood bed over the metal one.

Only 3...lol.... I do that in a weeks time....lol

Guess we will just haft to differ on opinions here, but water is going to hit the top on either this style or a normal wood bed and either way it will get into the wood grain at some point.
It's not like the water is going to just set under the wood its going to run out the back and it will dry under there, yes it might take alittle longer then the normal wood bed but its going to dry none the less.

Maybe a marine grade type of wood or some Teak would be a better choice then your normal hard wood but i allways felt that type of wood wood be a better choice anyway when putting it on a DD truck.

Re: Wood bed over the metal one.

When I put my wed bed in I will be sure and use a Tonneau cover to help keep the elements out. Plus I hope to have a 2 car garage then too, lol. I am not building a super show truck anyway, or even a show truck at all. I need something that looks good and does the job of a truck. Someday it will get the frame off treatment, but for now it needs to at least be presentable and cancer(rust) free the best I can.

Re: Wood bed over the metal one.

Well, any wood floor installed in the bed of a truck will eventually rot. Just look at some of the factory installed beds we've seen over the years.
