68 stepside spare tire mount?
I searched the forums, but every thread I came across was pretty old so I figured I'd ask. Does anyone know of were a person could get a spare tire mounting bracket for the right side of a 68 step side. Searched the parts board with no luck. Nothing on eBay either.
Anybody remaning these? Maybe even just some specs, and I could have someone fab one for me. I really like the look, and the practicality of the step side mount spare. Plus I wouldn't have to find a non cutout fender. Thanks in advance. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 68 stepside spare tire mount?
The only factory mounts I can recall seeing were left side mounts. Only the SWB trucks used the cutout fender. The mount is well documented in the assembly manual if you are trying to match something up. Also I have seen mounts that were modified to allow a slide on camper to fit by dropping the location down into the step well. Good luck on your hunt. Might want to try the classified parts section here on he board.

Oops, I meant to say left side. I'm hoping to find someone who does a repop. I checked the classifieds, but didn't find anything. I'll keep checking. eBay's a dead end so far too.

I would like to have the cut out too, thought about buying a trailer fender from northern tools and makin my own..might even do both side..lol good luck with yer search |
