Can someone tell me what this part is?

What is this part I have circled in the pic? And is it important and needed?
Thanks!

Re: Can someone tell me what this part is?

That is the brace that the spare tire is held to the frame with. It is missing the actual part that holds the wheel however. I have seen tons of these but not one complete one so I don't know exactly is missing.

Re: Can someone tell me what this part is?

I cut mine out , moved the main brace all the way to rear, and installed fuel tank there...

It is a spare tire mount I'm not sure exactly what it is missing but if you don't intend to use it to carry a spare with it isn't needed.

Those are high performance wheels. they use them on soap box racers. They have little to no rolling and wind resistance. I cant beleve nobody else noticed!

Re: Can someone tell me what this part is?

i was always wondering about where a spare tire went , i dont think i have that bracket on my truck , but the other piece from pics looks the same as a 60s 70s chevy truck the long bolt and bracket , that hangs under the tire
