Drop and disc, what can I use?
I,d like to lower my 69 gmc stepper, and convert to disc while retaining 6 lug if possible. I have a 76 heavy half doner truck. I've read through conversion threads, and I'm still confused as to what I can keep and what I'll need to get.
Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Drop and disc, what can I use?
1) 76 donor front end (ncluding all the steering linkage)
2) aftermarket 6-lug rotors. 3) 71-72 m/c and prop valve. Welcome to the board. This question has been asked 100's of times. TRY a google search,... and it will bring you back to this board and all the threads,... like this: http://www.google.com/custom?domains...D%3A1%3B&hl=en There are 45 pages of threads listed above.

We just put together these kits, which will have the parts you need to the swap.

Like I said, I have read many threads and still was not sure what I could use from the donor truck. Case in point, I didn't recall anywhere saying you couldn't use the master cylinder and power brake set-up from my donor truck. The thing with google searches, or any other search, unless you have the specific terminology on your search, what is returned is often not what you need. |

Re: Drop and disc, what can I use?
71-72 M/C parts are a bolt on.
Your 76 parts can be used also,... but you will have to drill a few extra holes and fab up a new brake pedal push rod. I try to encourage people to read, read, read. Alot of members take the answers and you never hear from them again. Spoon feeding answers without seeing pics or knowing exactly what you are working with is just a guess on my part. There are many talented people on here that have done exactly what you are asking.
