hooker competition with purple hornies
I just got my hooker competition headers deliver and im thinking about my exhaust. I was thinking about bolt up purple hornies. Will they fit, like in terms of hitting a crossmember or anything? Do anyone have a pic under the truck of the headers installed?

Re: hooker competition with purple hornies
The header bolt-on purple hornies are a cheap exhaust solution and I doubt you'd have clearance issues with most long tubes, but they are INCREDIBLY loud. In my opinion too loud for the street, a lot of people that buy them regret it and go with something quieter.

Re: hooker competition with purple hornies
i was running cut off pipes under the cab with stock ram horns, sounded awesome IMO but the old lady wants me to put mufflers on, so i thought this would be the best solution

Re: hooker competition with purple hornies
I ran Purple Hornies on my '63 back in the late 70's. I wasn't running Hooker headers, I was running Hedman #69260's, which are designed for these trucks. Consequently due to the downward angle of the collector, the header mufflers had to be heated and bent upward. I had no other clearance issues. If you are running the Hooker #2452's, I would thing you should be fine.
Yeah, they are a little loud, But being 17 at the time, I loved it
