WTB-NV4500-Bellhousing-NP241
Looking to locate a good used NV4500 out of a 4wd and a NP241 T-Case and Bellhousing. I want the bellhousing with the external slave cylinder (not inside the bellhousing). I believe the early (93-95?) models were external.
Would prefer a matched set but will take them separately. Thanks, Mike |

Re: WTB-NV4500-Bellhousing-NP241
I dont think it will work if its out of an IFS truck. The drop has to be on the Pass Side to work with my Dana 60 in my 69. I have been searching hi/low and have been "schooled" since posting this ad. I should have put it in the 73-87 section, since only the trucks will have what I need up to 87 (Burbs to 91).
If however, its a PS drop, I'm interested in it. Let me know. If not,I'll have to pass. Thanks for your time either way. Mike |

Re: WTB-NV4500-Bellhousing-NP241
Be careful to check any NV4500. Count splines to make sure the input and output are GM.
There are 2 different transmission to bell housing bolt configurations. In about 96 they quit using the GM bolt pattern and went to the Dodge bolt pattern for the 4 12mm x 1.75 bolts that hold the trans to the transfer case

Re: WTB-NV4500-Bellhousing-NP241
External clutch slave cylinder is 92-94 with the oddball bellhousing to trans bolt pattern. GM input shafts are all 1-1/8" 10-spline with a pilot snout diameter of 0.590". The 4x4 NV-4500 has a 32 spline output shaft. Look for an NP-241 that is behind a TH400 or 4L80-E to find the correct 32 spline input gear.
Worthy to consider: Build the correct case from 2...go ahead and find a driver's side drop case from an IFS truck that has the 32 spline input gear, then source a 241 from a square body, split it and put the correct gear in. I am collecting parts for my NV-4500 swap, so I've researched as well. I started with a 2WD trans and I've collected the 4WD tailshaft, I need the Mainshaft, the balancer, a spacer, and a couple little internal doo-dads + whatever else my trans might need in R&R. I removed it from a '93 C3500 with a seized 6.5L-TD so I didn't get to test it. I have 2 NP241s, both of them out of 90/91 squares with Electronic VSSs, one has 27-spline input from a TH700-R4, the other is the correct 32-spline from a 4L80-E. Need trans parts? Looky here, they have good used & tested parts for decent prices: http://www.tbtrans.com/transmission_parts.htm
